The African Police Cooperation Center was officially inaugurated on Thursday in Salé as the first center of its kind in Africa, dedicated to command, coordination, and the exchange of security-related information for major sporting events. This initiative is part of Morocco’s preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.
The center is the result of close national cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, the General Directorate of National Security, the Royal Gendarmerie, and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, alongside international cooperation with Interpol under the “Stadia” sports security project.

The facility brings together representatives of Moroccan security services, liaison officers from the 23 countries qualified for AFCON 2025, and mobile spotter teams working in direct coordination with Moroccan authorities to support visiting fans.
It also includes representatives from CAF and FIFA, as well as participants from Spain and Portugal, in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
