FC Barcelona delivered a spectacular performance, thrashing Olympiakos with a resounding 6–1 victory on Tuesday night at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, as part of the UEFA Champions League group stage
The Catalan side dominated the match from start to finish, with a hat-trick from Fermín Lopez (7’, 39’, 76’), a penalty converted by Lamine Yamal (68’), and a brace from Marcus Rashford (74’, 79’). On the Greek side, Ayoub El Kaabi scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, before teammate Santiago Hezze was sent off in the 57th minute, leaving Olympiakos down to ten men.
With this impressive win, Barcelona strengthens its position at the top of the group and sends a strong message to its European rivals, while Olympiakos sees its hopes of qualification significantly diminished after this heavy defeat.
