L’équipe nationale marocaine des moins de 20 ans a écrit une page dorée de l’histoire du football marocain, en remportant la finale de la Coupe du Monde U20 face à l’Argentine (2-0), au stade Nacional de Santiago du Chili.
Les deux buts ont été signés par Yassir Zbiri lors de la première mi-temps, offrant ainsi aux Lionceaux de l’Atlas une victoire éclatante et un premier titre mondial pour le football marocain dans cette catégorie.
Dominateurs et organisés, les jeunes Marocains ont su contrôler le rythme du match, affichant maturité tactique et solidarité remarquable. Sous la houlette de l’entraîneur Mohamed Ouahbi, cette génération dorée confirme la qualité du travail de formation mené par l’Académie Mohammed VI de Football, devenue un modèle sur le continent africain.
