The Marrakech Police Department has categorically denied allegations made by a British national, who claimed she had been mistreated by border police officers at Marrakech-Menara Airport.
In a clarification statement, the police confirmed that an internal investigation was launched and surveillance camera footage from the arrival and boarding areas was reviewed. The findings proved that the claims were false and required correction.
The passenger in question arrived at the airport on July 31 at 11:00 a.m. without carrying a valid passport authorizing her entry into Moroccan territory, as required by national regulations governing the entry and stay of foreigners.
Coordination with the airline did not result in locating the missing travel document that the passenger claimed to have lost on board. Consequently, she was denied entry and was repatriated the same day on the first available flight back to her country of origin.
The Marrakech Police stressed that no footage supported the allegations and reiterated that the entry and stay of foreigners in Morocco are subject to strict legal procedures.
