Strong 6.3-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Greece, Felt Across Arab and Mediterranean Countries

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck late Tuesday, May 13 at 11:51 PM local time, off the coast of Greece, approximately 35 kilometers from the island of Karpathos, according to Reuters.

Local reports confirmed that the tremor occurred deep under the sea and was felt across various parts of Greece, with no injuries or significant damages reported so far.

The quake’s impact extended to several countries in the Eastern Mediterranean, with tremors felt in Turkey, Egypt (including Cairo), Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, and Israel, as well as parts of Cyprus and southern Italy.
