The Senegalese Football Federation announced in an official statement that it appeared on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, before the Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football, in connection with the file related to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
The statement explained that the procedure followed the match officials’ reports, as well as the reservations submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation after the final.
According to the same source, the Senegalese FA was represented at the hearing by its Secretary General, with legal assistance from Maître Seydou Diagne. The committee also formally heard national team head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw, along with players Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye, who presented their defenses before the disciplinary body.
The Senegalese Football Federation confirmed that the Disciplinary Committee has taken the case under deliberation, with the final decision to be communicated within a maximum of 48 hours, as set by the Chair of the panel.
The statement, issued from Dakar on January 27, 2026, concluded by reaffirming the federation’s respect for the procedures in force within the continental governing body and its expectation of the committee’s final ruling.
