The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Friday the official match schedule of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025, which will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
In a statement published on its official website, CAF confirmed that the opening match of this edition — described as the largest in the history of the continental competition — will be played on December 21, 2025, featuring Morocco vs Comoros in Group A.
The opening fixture will be held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, with a seating capacity of 69,500 spectators, which CAF described as “the perfect stage for the highly anticipated kickoff of the tournament.”
CAF also announced that the quarterfinal matches will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, as well as in Tangier, Marrakech, and Agadir.
The two semifinals will take place in Rabat and Tangier, while the third-place match will be hosted at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca.
The final of AFCON 2025 will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
According to CAF, the tournament will feature 52 matches over 29 days, making it “a football festival that reflects the passion and talent of African football.”
