The Nigerian national team secured a convincing 4–1 victory over Gabon in the semi-final of the African play-offs qualifying for the FIFA World Cup, in a match played today at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Morocco.
The Super Eagles waited until the 78th minute to open the scoring through A. Adams, before taking full control of the game during extra time.
Chidera Ejuke doubled the lead in the 97th minute, and star striker Victor Osimhen sealed the result with a quick brace in the 102nd and 110th minutes.
Gabon reduced the deficit thanks to Mario Lemina in the 89th minute, but it was not enough to avoid being knocked out of the competition.
