Morocco’s tourism sector maintained its strong performance throughout 2025. According to the Tourism Observatory, the number of overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments reached over 20.32 million by the end of August 2025 — a 10% increase compared to the same period last year.
This growth is driven by both domestic tourism (+5%) and international tourism (+13%), confirming Morocco’s continued appeal to both local and foreign travelers.
Among the country’s leading destinations, Tangier recorded the highest growth rate at 18%, followed by Casablanca (17%), Fez (13%), Essaouira and Agadir (9%), Al Haouz (4%), and Marrakech (3%).
In terms of financial performance, foreign-currency travel revenues rose to 87.59 billion dirhams during the first eight months of 2025, marking a 14% increase, further strengthening tourism’s contribution to the national economy.
By the end of August, Morocco had welcomed 13.54 million tourists through its border crossings — a 15% rise year-on-year — confirming the Kingdom’s position as one of the leading tourist destinations in the region.
