Rabat – Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for African Affairs, reaffirmed during his meeting with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita the United States’ unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and for the Moroccan autonomy plan, describing it as the only basis for a just and lasting solution to the conflict.
In a statement released by the U.S. Embassy in Rabat, Boulos highlighted that the talks focused on opportunities to further strengthen the strategic partnership and alliance between Washington and Rabat, particularly as American companies show increasing interest in investing across Morocco, including in the Sahara region.
He added that the meeting also addressed efforts to accelerate the political process, reiterating Washington’s commitment to supporting stability and development in the region.
The U.S. official concluded by stressing his country’s determination to continue building a strong partnership with Morocco on political, economic, and strategic levels.
