– The chief architect of the Tangier Grand Stadium project, Anouar El Amraoui, confirmed that the venue has undergone a comprehensive renovation, increasing its current capacity to 75,500 seats and making it fully compliant with FIFA standards and requirements for the 2030 World Cup.
In a video released Thursday on the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Mr. El Amraoui explained that the stadium has seen two new extensions and now includes several VIP and VVIP hospitality lounges with direct views of the pitch. The main stand can host 210 guests, while the sections reserved for dignitaries can accommodate 1,300 spectators.
The media tribune has been redesigned to ensure optimal coverage. The stadium now boasts 142 corporate boxes across three levels, each with a capacity of 10 to 20 seats.
For general spectators, the seating has been distributed over three levels (lower, middle, and upper), in addition to a dedicated hospitality stand. The stadium features four changing rooms for teams, instead of the two required by regulations, along with recovery areas, coaches’ offices, massage rooms, cryotherapy facilities, fully equipped warm-up rooms, a mixed zone exceeding 500 m², and a conference room that can host 210 journalists.
This new-generation sports infrastructure is also equipped with an advanced Operations Control Center, a key element for security, including nearly 900 cameras inside and outside the venue, covering all entrances, as well as state-of-the-art facial recognition technology.
The stadium also features two giant screens of 220 m² each, a perimeter LED screen stretching over 700 meters, and a high-quality sound system. Two additional perimeter screens will be installed at pitch level.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, the venue provides VIP parking lots with a capacity of 400 cars, another for 600–700 vehicles, as well as a general public parking area for around 3,000 cars, with additional parking spaces allocated by the local authorities.
Accessibility has also been prioritized, with two elevators enabling persons with reduced mobility to reach all levels of the stadium, regardless of their ticket category.
