Qatari shooters claimed the top spots in the individual skeet events, men and women, while Kuwait secured the team title at the Arab Shooting Championship, held Tuesday at the Tangier Shooting Club.
In the men’s skeet, Qatar’s Rashid Saleh Al-Adhba won gold, followed by Kuwait’s Abdelaziz Al-Asaad with silver, and fellow Kuwaiti Mohammed Nayef Al-Dihani who took bronze.
In the women’s skeet, Qatar’s Hajar Ghulam clinched gold, Morocco’s Ibtissam Marighi, a former African champion, won silver, and Kuwait’s Afrah Al-Mohammad earned bronze.
In the team competition, Kuwait topped the podium with gold, Qatar took silver, and Oman secured bronze.
Abdelazim El Hafi, Vice-President of the Royal Moroccan Shooting Federation, highlighted the high level of competition and announced that Tangier will host the Shooting World Cup in March 2026, with this Arab Championship serving as preparation for Moroccan shooters.
Qatari champion Rashid Saleh Al-Adhba, crowned Arab skeet champion in Tangier, expressed pride and satisfaction with his victory, praising Morocco’s facilities and calling the Tangier Shooting Club “one of the best in the world.”
The Arab Championship for Shotgun Shooting, held under the presidency of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, continues until September 28, featuring 60 athletes from eight countries: Bahrain, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, and Oman.
