Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced that the sixth edition of the Police Open Days, held in the city of El Jadida from May 17 to 21, recorded an unprecedented attendance of over 2,400,000 visitors—setting a new record in the history of this community-oriented event.
Hosted at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center, the event witnessed massive turnout, especially over the weekend (May 17–18), with more than 1,180,000 visitors. The majority were students from over 1,916 public, private, and traditional educational institutions, in addition to a strong presence from civil society organizations and representatives of 187 media outlets and broadcast channels.
The DGSN also leveraged its official social media platforms to livestream the event’s activities, which resulted in over 29 million views. A total of 1,256 media engagements were facilitated across various press outlets.
Spread across more than one fully covered hectare, the exhibition featured 50 thematic pavilions highlighting various aspects of police services, officer training and recruitment, social support systems, and specialized units such as forensic and technical police, intervention forces, domestic violence support cells, the “Iblagh” platform for reporting violent digital content, and road safety education.
A key highlight was the unveiling of “Aman,” a smart patrol vehicle developed by DGSN engineers. It is equipped with artificial intelligence technologies and linked in real time to police databases, enabling rapid responses to incidents in public spaces.
The event also showcased historical documents, police uniforms, communication tools, and vehicles used throughout the force’s 69-year history, alongside an art gallery displaying works created by police officers themselves.
A 1,000-square-meter entertainment zone was dedicated to children, offering interactive educational activities using the latest virtual and augmented reality technologies. Additionally, a 9,400-square-meter covered arena hosted live demonstrations by special forces, the police band, mounted units, and K9 teams, supported by high-quality sound and lighting systems.
Academically, the event included a series of conferences tackling current issues such as the use of AI in law enforcement, Morocco’s experience in organizing large-scale events, security challenges ahead of CAN 2025 and World Cup 2030, the role of digital identity in modernizing public services, and the “Iblagh” platform as a citizen protection tool.
Through organizing Police Open Days regularly across different cities, the DGSN aims to strengthen community policing, promote transparency and engagement, and align its security strategies with the real expectations of citizens—all in pursuit of a participatory and inclusive approach to public safety.
